Kitchen Ninja News

IN-SAN-EE-TEEE. (aka - insanity).

I have a wedding gig coming up in a week in the Gorge.

My Crunk!Cakes cupcakes made it on to a design blog that featured my friend JesusFishWithoutABicycle's (aka JDubDub) epic wedding.

I now have a website built by my extraordinary seester Rose, and it's getting close to being perfect.

Los Links, you may ask?

Simply D'lish Syrup

Kitchen Ninja has a very awesome friend that owns a spectacular commercial kitchen. Today, KN got to play in it. It was an EPIC afternoon of stainless steel, butcher block counter tops, gadgets, and AC'd bliss.

The project today was to 1) harvest from the farm, and visit the farmer's market 2) infuse simple syrups with whatever I can lay my hands on 3) can the suckers.

These syrups have endless uses (I'm currently sipping on a raspberry/mint/lime infused homemade italian soda), you can use them on snowcones, in cake, in frosting, in tea, coffee, adult beverages, as a glaze for pound cake, on pancakes...the list goes on and one.

I ended up with four flavors:

Raspberry Mojito Syrup (raspberry, mint, lime, lemon)

Lavender Vanilla (infused with vanilla, lavender and mint)

Thai Spice Syrup (containing Thai Basil, Lime, Ginger, and Serrano Peppers)

Mojito Syrup (Mint, Lime)

BEHOLD...

I felt like a mad scientist, blending spices, juicing fruit, boiling steamy liquids...

This is me, Kitchen Ninja, hanging out at the kitchen that will now forever haunt my dreams. *sigh* Thanks Michelle for giving me the key and free reign!

Here's where you, gentle readers, come in. Leave a comment listing which of the four blends you'd like the recipe to. Then, after you've voiced your choice, I'll update this post with the WINNER recipe.

till later,

new: crafty thinking ninja

HI!!!

I'm a new ninja and way excited about being here (tanksch you very much beautiful ladies!). My name is Amy aka the crafty thinker (the name of my previous blog page) and why am I the crafty thinker??? because whilst I LOVE being crafty and trying all things crafty - I hardly ever have or (being honest) make the time. SOOOO I just end up thinking about crafts....a lot.

Right now I am working on a lot of baby stuff. 5 different onesies - a crocheted airplane - booties - and a firefly quote burp cloth. Also trying to work out a quilt with my son's favorite shirts...anything and everything drum & guitar related. And I really want to try a hexagon quilt - oooo - and some crochet necklaces. And I'm sanding and painting a train table for E's birthday.

Aforementioned crochet necklaces I want to make...

A little about me: I'm a momma of one (E), wife of one (R) :) I work a regular 9-5 job which pays the bills and dream about the day when my hubby has his masters and job or book published or directing gig so i can stay home to actually BE crafty.

Here's a little owl I recently made...was going to give it to a friend...

but then this little guy decided to be adorable by making it say "woo woo" and play with his octopus made with the same blue.
Thanks for letting me play here! See ya'll soon!
