bombs away!

what's that you say? it's almost fall? time for bomber hats!!

credit where credit's due: the pattern comes from threadbanger.

ingredients assembled and pattern cut:

also, things that make me an idiot? on a list - not paying attention to how many of what pieces i need and cutting two of pieces i only need one of. such a waste!

pieces pieced together:

ready for tassels:

finish it off, and hat complete!

i didn't take a lot of photos of the process...i had already made one previously that didn't turn out nearly as well. i attempted to enlarge the pattern as i was cutting out, which made the hat WAAAAAY larger than needed. and crooked. see?

i promise it's not just his head that make the hat look strange. it's the hat that makes the hat look strange. :) anyway, this is me...signing off. i'm working full-time, schooling full-time and have a 15-hour-a-week practicum that i have to do...so you probably won't see me around these parts often. good thing kitchen ninja has our backs with updates.
dang!

snowed in crafting:

what does one do when one is visiting fellow craft ninja and gets snowed in?

well, craft, of course. duh.

this is the completion of my earlier teaser photograph. i was using a pattern which i had to change so often and much that i finally abandoned it entirely and did my own thing. i'm going to play around with the patterning a bit and then post it on here!

my favorite thing about this cowl is that everything was purchased at local stores in wichita, kansas. the yarn came from twist and the button from sew much - both in the delano district.

i had enough yarn left over [thanks, post-christmas sales] that i made a matching hat as well.

these photos are artistic but not very informative or instructive. i'm still getting used to my new camera, and i'm not at home where i know how to take proper pictures. i will probably just leave it until i can entirely pattern my own and have better photos then.

blessings, jamie lynne.

a gaggle of hats:

or...a bundle? i'm not sure what the appropriate term is. oh, well. here we go!

the following three hats are a gift to my [not so] tiny-headed cousin. hopefully they fit! and hopefully his mom isn't looking at this. :)

cone! i swear this type of hat is cute on - even though it looks stupid here.

made to look like a baseball cap - i did this one without a pattern, so it looks a little wonky.

i always think hats like this look like a lazy bear hat. either way, it's super stretchy and i love it.

next is a larger version of yet another hat i made for a tiny cousinfriend. the adult-sized version served well as a christmas gift to a friend. the flower accessory is made from the mollie flowers tutorial on roman sock.

***and now, a little something i'm working on - almost finished!***

until next time,
jamie lynne
